The Vette Is Here!!!

After two months of waiting, and weeks of haggling over financing with the cutthroats at HSBC the Vette has finally arrived. It's still hard to believe its mine, but I think I can get used to it. Big thanks to the folks at Hammer Auto.

Here's a couple of snapshots. Click the images for larger photos.

I've been told it kind of looks like the Batmobile. I kind of like the Batmobile, so I'll take that as a compliment. I'll post a few more photos when I make some room on the digital camera.

Mo,your Batmobile is off the hook! But I would like to see more of the interior, coz' if it goes with black or gray leather seats, it won't be as completed as with brown leather, other than that, you'll get 50 "Whao" for every half mile you drive. another little issue, you might wanna lower your wheels a little to hide that crack in between.

trust me, I'm a pro racing technician from Macau

Off the CHAIN!

Question....why did it take weeks of haggling to get the financing done? Did the dealership try to rake you over the coals?

I initially got the car financed through Household Automotive Finance. That offer expired after 45 days, and I had to reapply since the car was going to take an additional 3 weeks to arrive. It turns out Macy's put a bad mark on my credit for not paying a bill. Apparently, when you open a Macy's Visa, they open two accounts. I paid on one, and they billed on the other. Macy's immediately retracted the negative mark, and faxed me a letter of apology. I tried explaining this to HAFC over several weeks, but they more than doubled my loan rate and reduced the amount offered. Needless to say, I got a loan somewhere else.

Hey BJM. No LA this weekend. I gotta help grandma on Saturday.

Nice Ride. Nice to know you're priority is posting about your over priced low-self esteem car instead of racially insensitive events like this..

Oh wait, since the perpetrators were black and the victims were asians, i guess it doesn't merit your attention. How convenient. If you're going to be fired up everytime a "minority" is persecuted, why not be consistent instead of just defending Muslims and blacks.

Hypocrite.

Thx for visiting hypocrite. If you associate self-esteem with posessions, you probably don't own anything of value, right? In which case, the self-esteem problem probably belongs to you. The reason I posted the car is to show that you can start out with nothing, like I did, and get something of value, legally. Here in Oakland, that's an important lesson to learn. Maybe not so much in New York.

With regard to the article at your hiphopmusic.com site, thx for posting the link, but I don't listen to New York radio stations here in California. I was unaware of the problem. Sorry. Your site seems a lot more logically written than your comment here.

As far as the last anonymous poster, what are you talking about, son? First, at least get a name and a site, so I can give you at least a little respect. Second, you ought to pay attention to Hypocrite's advice and spend your time on real problems, not flaming on someone else's blog.

By the way, I should mention that when I say "haggling over financing", it was with a third party. Hammer Auto is a great organization and I would highly recommend making a purchase through them. My next car purchase will definitely be going through Hammer.
